Farm Stalls & Craft Markets

Below is a list of some of the most popular markets along the Garden Route.
Great Brak holds its Uitspan Market (in the riverside park opposite the Spar, in the village) the first Saturday of every month from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. You'll find a selection of handcrafts, fresh farm produce, as well as baked goods and other things to eat and drink.
Mossel Bay's Goods Shed Indoor Flea Market (open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. 7 days a week during the holiday season) has a variety of stalls and shops (primarily handcrafts, art & antiques). Mossel Bay has a new Farmer's Market at The Point beginning at 9:00 a.m. the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month.
George is home to the excellent Outeniqua Farmers' Market, which first opened on Nov 19, 2011. It's since earned the reputation as the best market in the Garden Route (with Sedgefield's coming in second). They are open Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Wilderness holds its Milkwood Village Night Market right in the centre of the village on Friday evenings from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. There's a Craft Market on the shores of the Touws River the last Sunday of each month. Halfway between Wilderness and Sedgefield you'll find Timberlake Farm Village (open 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 7 days a week) with its focus on organics and sustainability.
Sedgefield boasts two markets - the Wild Oats Community Farmers' Market (Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the summer and from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the winter) and the Scarab Village Arts & Crafts Market (Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.). Plenty of free parking. It's always busy, so get there early!
Knysna has a fun Friday Night Market from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. which has a number of foodstalls, entertainers and children's activities. Parking is rather limited so get there early if you can.
Plettenberg Bay's Harkerville Market (which is actually about 10 km's before Plettenberg Bay on the N2 if you're coming from the direction of Knysna) is open on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Old Nick's Village in Plettenberg Bay (roughly opposite the polo grounds) has a selection of high quality handcrafts and art, and is certainly worth popping in for a visit or bite to eat if you're in the area.
